i am generally slim and fit, and go to the gym 2-3 times a week, I never do dieting, and always eat healthy, but whenever i put on weight, its always around the stomach, and i am wondering if there are specific exercises for a flat stomach ?
my legs & hands are slim & toned, but my stomach is a little bit flabby (i feel) and would love to have a more muscular and toned stomach.
i mean i go to the gym anyway, so maybe i can concentrate on those exercises rather than knacker on the treadmill.
pls help. thank you....

There are no specific exercises for your stomach area that will shift fat. You can do sit ups, planks and oblique twists, but all these will do is tone your stomach muscles up. If you want to lose the fat sat over the stomach muscles, you need to up your cardio work. Min 5 times a week for at least half an hour. Lots of interval training (sprints followed by periods of recovery). To get abs that Britney or Freddy Ljunberg would be proud of, you need to drop your body fat to less than 11%, then all your hard work will be on show!!

I find the best way to tone or get a six pack to your stomach is sit ups. The legs are bent so that the feet are firmly on the floor, then raise your back from the floor and touch opposite elbow to knee. i.e. left elbow to right knee then the other way r to l. Twisting motion works the layers of muscle, there are three layers. Do this working up the crunchie numbers over a period of time, also the ordinary, six pack muscles need work. With feet firmly flat on the floor, arms outstretched slide your hands over the knees whilst raising a straight back from the floor. do this until tired. As you go to the gym you know your body, so you will know how many to do. Good luck

I get asked this alot at the gym i freelance in. You need to concentrate on your diet. Reduce the number of carbs you have after 5pm i.e bread, pasta, rice and potatoes as this will tend to hang onto the hip area.
My advice would be to look at how you train too. If you havnt changed your gym workout every 4-6 weeks, you need to do this then keep a record of your eating for 1 week.
As for exercises-take the same approach as you do with your other body parts. Start to train your lower back and oblique muscles as this will reduce around the mid section. Also look at no more than 300 sit-ups in one session. And rest the muscles for about 36 hours after you train.
Please email me for further advice. I have helped and advised alot of males and females on this site.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Sometimes as hard as you work out, that boring stomach fat won't go away. I'm having the same problem, so I know what I'm talking about. I think it's a genetic problem and it's not something that you can easily get rid of. My mom is all slim and slender, but she always used to have stomach fat. I work out at least 4 times a week and nothing is happening. And I've got to tone my arms, my legs, my but, but nothing's happening to my tummy. Oh, well, no one's perfect.

consistent with hazard your technique is somewhat off. i take advantage of to think of my sit down-united statesmade my waist thicker and in a fashion they are able to. in case you're conversing concerning the muscle shape which could be adjusted with workout. try the Kathy Smith Pilates for abs. It trimmed me impressive up. technique is each and every thing. the stunning delicate layer from too many carbo's purely comes off with dropping fat no longer muscle. So working or cycling would do extra. cycling and Pilates has me in extra effective shape at 40 than 20 and that i purely do it a pair of circumstances a week. solid luck!

its always difficult to get rid of the flabby stomach when everything else gets back to normal but there is a way to strengthen the muscles which are to blame for this but you must get a pamphlet on this at your surgery (maybe) and you can achieve it yourself over a longish period and save a lot of gym expense

Try using a Hyperextension (Roman Chair). Those units are great for improving obliques, abdominals, and back muscles, which our buyers wholeheartedly agree. Most gyms have them and the cost is relatively low if you choose to pick one up for your home.

There is no remedy other than exercises:-
1. Jogging is the best: Jog as much as your stamina permits
2. Swimming is next
3. Crunches is the 3rd best option. Refer to any of the numerous websites for exercise steps with photoaids.
