Apart from the price.
Looking to get one, but obviously the cheaper one if theres not much difference.

I think the 580 is worth the extra cost for these reasons:
1- it is more powerful
2- it has a high speed shutter synch to synch at any shutter speed
3- the dial to adjust the exposure is much quicker and easier to use
so it saves you time adjusting things during a shoot
4- The tilting of the flash head is much quicker also and easier there is just one side button to push to adjust it up and down or side to side instead of 2 seperate buttons.

I had a look at both of these and I ended up buying the 580 because it has an infa red slave on it so that I can use it with my studio lights which is fantastic. It means I can do away with any leads and the extra money I spent on the flash meant I didn't have to buy a separate trigger and I get a much more powerful flash.
