She was peeing in the house, but she has learnt that she gets told off if she does that, so she pees in her bed. I'm getting so frustrated and i'm gonna really lose my temper with her soon, as shes almost 6 months old, and she still isnt letting me know when she needs to go.
She does it on purpose, because she knows she gets told off if she does it anywhere in the house.
If nobody has any advice, short of telling me its my fault, that'd be great. And its not my fault, because I do take her outside regularly, and I get her to bark every time I open the door and give her loads of praise, she must jst be either very stupid, or deliberately annoying?

And when i say bed, i mean crate, she already has one, and still does it, i'm really at my wits end, and i think shes actually scared of me now and I'm not sure how to undo it....

The only thing that confuses me is that when the back door is open she goes outside (she even knows where to go as we trained her to go down an alley at the side of our house)
she just still does it in the house. I supose what i need to know is how to get her to let me know she needs to go!!!

One more thing....if i catch her at it, and pick her up to take her outside, she doesnt stop as i pick her up she just carries on and then i get a trail all the way thru the house and once i get outside shes finished...i am almost at my wits end!!

mine did the same thing. make sure you have no like bones or anything to guard being kept there. often when a pup is taken away from parent to soon they haven't been taught yet so its your job. parent dog would wee somewhere first or lick pups genitals to encourage to go. now i am in no mean suggesting your do this but lots of breeder have a wet cloth to rub on the dogs genitals when in an appropriate spot (this goes for cleaning self too) also take items of cloth from her wee bed to put where you want her to wee so she can associate to it you know smell it. coz she is now familiar with the beds wee smell. that's her wee territory. hope this helps want to help more but don't want to natter on.

hi there. try giving your dog rewards when u are outside the house and goes to pee. not while you are in the house at all. Border collies are very intelligent so i dont think she would be stupid. Very unusual for a dog to pee in their own bed. Have u had the vet check her for any bladder problems.
Never raise your voice to her when she does go in the house. If you catch her in the act immediately put her outside and use the ignoring technique. What i mean is show no emotion towards her at all. Totally ignore her. But only do this if you see it happening not after the fact because they will not realise what they are getting ignored for.
If you can spend the time with her when u take her outside, if she pees give a reward treat immediately. Find something she really loves and only use this food as a reward, never at any other time.
I think she will soon get the idea. If this behaviour continues do see your vet incase she has any bladder problems
Hope this helps

Your impatience and anger have terrified her. Dogs don't do things on purpose, she doesn't know she has done wrong, she only knows that you are angry. She may have a bladder or kidney infection and simply CANNOT hold her water. If this is so and you are walloping her for peeing you have been very cruel. Get her checked by a vet for infection before doing anything else, then start at the beginning with house training and do it properly without punishment. If she is being shut in a cage for hours of course she will pee. Personally I think you need to find her a new home as soon as possible as you are not a very good dog owner.

Try slowly moving her crate towards the door over a period of a few days. Also instead of telling her off just ignore her and dont give her any attention when she has an accident

Hey W.S.- it's a puppy. The dog needs to be taken out, really walked a lot. Buy a crate. I know, I hate them too, but it works. It won't last forever. Good Luck!
