Depends on where you are going. Big cities have most everything they have at home, but smaller cities may not have much in the way of foriegn goods you would like. The best thing to do is to check out expat sites from or near the city you are going to. These are the people best able to tell you what you will need for the area you are going to. China's a big place...what you will need for Harbin is not the same as what you will need for Shenzhen.

Nothing else but yourself and feeling ,In China you can find a lot of things which you can not find here ,of course include food.And you will find the differents between Canadian-Chinese produsts and Chinese-Chinese products.Hope you enjoy!!!!!!!!

T think the most important thing is to be ready for the Chinese food. Chinese food is totally different from American food. A lot of Americans think that Chinese food is oily. but if you get used to it, you'll find tons of delicious stuff! I highly recommend Sichuan food :)

first get a chinese visa... keep some cash with you (and place it in hidden place dont show to anyone if how much you have) its better to have some chinese currency from country you are traveling to pay for taxi etc....
