I used to be totally against the death penalty...A true staunch advocate against the death penalty..... But, not too far from where I live, a fellow killed a 10 year old boy, and cut off his penis so that it appeared to be a molester case..... Idiot confronted the mayor in a restroom stall and confessed seeking help from him.... Mayor even had to testify against the man.....
That just did something to me..... I had a hole in me so big, my heart just fell right out of it........
I say, if a man is unrepented for what he has done, I say give him what he deserves.....
but, if a man can change, let him change.....
Sometimes, the punishment is exactly what is deserved.....
your sister,
ginger

"As regards the Word particularly, it has existed in every age, though not the Word we possess at the present day. Another Word existed in the Most Ancient Church before the Flood, and yet another Word in the Ancient Church after the Flood. Then came the Word written through Moses and the Prophets in the Jewish Church, and finally the Word written through the Evangelists in the new Church. The reason why the Word has existed in every age is that by means of the Word there is a communication between heaven and earth, and also that the Word deals with goodness and truth, by which a person is enabled to live in eternal happiness. In the internal sense therefore the Lord alone is the subject, for all goodness and truth are derived from Him" (Arcana Coelestia n. 2895).

Matthew chapter 19 verse 14. If the murderer/kidnapper/rapist/pedophile repents, asks for forgiveness, and Jesus Christ to come into his or her heart they will go to heaven. God hates the sin, but still loves the sinner. If we couldn't ask for repentance and ask Jesus Christ to come into our hearts, we would all be hell bound. That said, yes I do believe in the death penalty. Although Texas and Flordia are the only ones that seem to want to use it and California, last I heard had 650 inmates on death row, but there's probably more than that now.

I will not comment on the spiritual side of your question about the 7 year old (I do not think it is a set age - God sees the HEART).
However, my personal opinion on the death penalty is that it should still be in effect today. I am a born again Christian. The death penalty is practical and would eliminate a lot of crime and eliminate our prisons for lesser crimes than death, rape etc.
I believe that there are consequences to bad behaviour, and if a person chooses to commit crime, he chooses the death penalty.
However, it must be done in a way that is not turturous, and the person must have the opportunity to be lead to Jesus Christ before he dies.

Why is 7 the age of reason? I don't think there is a set age.
I think the death penalty should only be carried out on the most evil of offenders. I don't consider it an eye for an eye I consider it the just punishment for a severe crime.

particularly some the solutions you won do not mirror what all of us understand approximately capital punishment. a lot of human beings help the death penalty because of the fact they worry that killers would be released into their communities. listed under are solutions to questions on the subject of the smart components of the gadget and possibilities, with sources listed under. What on the subject of the possibility of executing harmless human beings? (human beings of religion could be very attracted to this.) 124 human beings on death rows have been released with data of their innocence. would not DNA shop new circumstances like those from occurring? DNA is provided in below 10% of all homicides. this is not a assure against the execution of harmless human beings. would not the death penalty avert others from committing homicide? No respected learn exhibits the death penalty to be a deterrent. To be a deterrent a punishment could be sure and fast. The death penalty is neither. homicide costs are greater in states and areas that have it than in states that don't. So, what are the possibilities? life with out parole is now on the books in 40 8 states. It ability what it says. it somewhat is particular and fast and infrequently appealed. life with out parole is low fee than the death penalty. yet isn't the death penalty greater fee-effective than keeping criminals in detention center? The death penalty costs lots greater advantageous than life in detention center, generally because of the criminal technique. every time the death penalty is a obtainable sentence, greater costs start to mount up even formerly a tribulation, persevering with for the period of the uniquely complicated trial (particularly 2 separate levels, mandated with the aid of the final court docket) in death penalty circumstances, and next appeals. What on the subject of the very worst crimes? The death penalty isn’t reserved for the “worst of the worst,” yet particularly for defendants with the worst legal experts. while is the final time a rich individual substitute into sentenced to death, not to show finished?? would not the death penalty help families of homicide sufferers? not unavoidably. homicide sufferer family around the country argue that the drawn-out death penalty technique is painful for them and that life with out parole is an perfect determination. So, why do not we speed up the technique? Over 50 of the harmless human beings released from death row had already served over a decade. If the technique is sped up we are particular to execute an harmless individual.

Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord."
