First understand light.

Take a looks at Micheal Langford's books.

As you advance understanding photo, then move to the books by Ansel Adams (The Film, The Lab and The Print), wonderful stuff.

Then get acquainted with the American cinematographer manual.

read mags and books.

Get into a film production agency as an assistant. Work with the DP..

Become an aid to a photographer.

there are many ways.. just start...
