Just a quick query. Roughly how many men and women are in Iraq and Afghanistan serving the BRITISH army at the moment?

Hey ya cheeky b*stads. i am asking cos i am joining in about 2 months and want to know...for my interview in a couple of weeks.

1. I am joining the BRITISH ARMY
2. The British are withdrawing from Iraq. Let the Americans sort it out...they started all this mess after all.
3. I am doing it for the career structure in Avionics, not as a regular squaddie.
4. The media is a powerful tool for the anti-war people and for everybody else.
5. the british dont go into a situation guns blazing like our american counterparts

6. and the british army are the best trained in the world. The average squaddie gets more training than the American special forces. Rangers, seals etc etc

Yes the British do have an army and a bloody good one at that. I did 22 years for Queen and country and very proud of it. As to the question about how many troops we have out there, I think we have about 5,000 in Iraq and 3,000 in Afghanistan, although this changes constantly.
