Radical Christians who wish to spread their faith by force of arms seem to be increasingly common in the U.S. How do we stop them before they reach critical mass like the Jihadists in some Muslim countries? It is only a matter of time before the War on Terrorism becomes the War on Islam if their numbers continue to increase.

Freedom, if you are going to be like that and insist that confrontation has to happen, then I am most definitely not on your side.

The real battles in America are between the faithful and those who want to make religious expression illegal.

Christians and Muslims respect the unborn child.
Liberals want to make abortion an internationally recognized human right, forcing all nations (including Muslim nations) to legalize abortion for any reason at any time throughout a pregnancy.

Christians and Muslims fight pornography.
Liberals want "freedom" to indulge in all the pornography they want, even when our children end up seeing it all around them.

Liberals want to outlaw crosses, yarmulkes and the hijab in schools, the workplace, and eventually in public (case in point: Holland).

Liberals want schools to teach that two men can get married, or two women, and that no one should have the right to say there is anything wrong with that. Christians and Muslims believe marriage is something holy, not homosexual.

If you are fighting against the Christians, I think you should look again at which side you're on.

Exactly as previous crusdae wars , they will start strongly but they will get defeated at the end... I know this time they are more agressive , but do not worry , things standing on false basis fall apart quickly...

Christianity is the matter of Love! did Jesus have not shown enough example when Peter want to be HIS 1st Crusade!

Then Jesus said to him, Put up your sword again into its place; for all who take the sword shall perish with a sword.
(Mat 26:52)

How to stop?! Do Start from loving your neighbors as you love GOD!

Radical Islam poses a much bigger problem at this point in history than radical Christianity does, because Christians are not primarily the ones committing acts of mass terrorism in an attempt to spread their religion around the globe.

Yes, evangelical Christians can be annoying and disrespectful of religious diversity when they try to push their religion on others; or even worse, when they pass laws in accordance with their own religious beliefs and ignore or deny other religions and their values. But that is still a far cry from radical Islam, which has a history of spreading by coercion, and which is responsible for the vast majority of terrorism in the world today. And make no mistake: radical Islam has the explicit and stated goal of taking over the world. For people who are still unclear on this reality, I suggest checking out the following websites:

It's unfortunate that the world is now caught between these two fairly militant forms of monotheism. As Jonathan Kirsch pointed out in his book "God Against the Gods: A History of the War Between Monotheism and Polytheism" -- pagan religions were much more tolerant of diversity, in general, than monotheistic religions. (Even the Roman empire mostly tolerated religious diversity, while persecuting only a small handful of religions; mainly because they felt them to be a threat to civic order. And even that was an exception among pagan cultures; usually pagans fought wars for reasons other than religion.) This difference in tolerance for diversity follows naturally from theology: because when you have many Gods, then there are perceived to be many valid spiritual paths; but when you have the idea of Only One True God, then it usually leads fairly quickly to the idea of Only One Right Religion. This is why both Christianity and Islam waged bloody wars of persecution against other religions.

But while Christianity mostly stopped its violent mass persecutions a few centuries ago, radical Islam has been increasing in violence the last few decades, which is why it is currently the much greater threat. And militant Muslims, like the militant Christians before them, do turn to their scriptures to seek endorsement for their militancy. The Koran specifically instructs Muslims to go out and kill pagans, for example. ("Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war." -- Surah 9:005) One of the ceremonies of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca is known as "the repudiation of the polytheists" or "the denunciation of the pagans" and it's regularly an occasion for militant speeches. As long as that sort of attitude towards other religions prevails, sadly, religious tolerance will take a back seat to religious persecution.

Ultimately, the only real solution will come from reversing the global trend towards monotheism, and encouraging a return to real religious diversity: meaning, many religions with many Gods. That means giving up the unrealistic ideal of One Religion With One God For Us All, which has been the source of so much religious conflict and persecution in the past. Neither Islam nor Christianity would be a problem, if only they would stop trying to push their religion on everyone else. (Compare Judaism, which is monotheistic, but Jews are not out to convert anyone else to their religion. That's a good model of religious tolerance for other monotheists.) When we once again have many different living religions, each of which has only a small percentage of the world's population as adherents, then it will not be possible for any one religion to gain hegemonic power over the others. (And it goes without saying that a world that tolerates many different religions is also more tolerant of atheists and agnostics, too.)

So, let's envision and work towards restoring a world of vibrant religious diversity, with hundreds of different religions and hundreds of Gods being worshipped. In the meantime, let's put our focus where it's truly warranted. That means worrying less about the Christians right now, and their pesky legal maneuvering -- and instead asking ourselves what must be done in order to defeat radical Islam and the global threat that it poses to us all. And we need to get serious about that very soon; because it will be a long hard battle. Hiding our heads in the sand and pretending that the terrorists will be nice to us if only we're nice to them is a recipe for disaster. That's the same approach that some pacifists tried towards Hitler in the 1930's, and it did not deter him from his mad plan to take over Europe. It will not deter radical Islam, either.

One cannot negotiate with an enemy whose only goal is your utter destruction; and appeasing them only encourages them to think that we are weak. We really must face the threat of Islamic fascism honestly and without flinching. It must be defeated before Iran and other Muslim nations get nuclear weapons, and the stakes become unimaginable. Our future -- that is, the future of the whole planet -- hangs in the balance.
