The treadmill and elliptical burn just about an same amout of energy interior of an same time body. those are both outstanding. The bike is sturdy too. The bike feels better sturdy to do inspite of the actuality that. operating uphill on a treadmill is way less puzzling. i do not do the bike so i do not recognize if it burns as many energy.

Treadmills are great because there's no learning curve to walking or running, but your legs may take some abuse over time. My top choice are ellipticals because they provide a low impact cardio workout, while toning the upper body. Plus you can indeed vary the workouts with numerous programs (including heart-rate controlled and reverse), intensity levels, stationary arm positions or dual movement upper body work, etc.

Elliptical because it works your whole body and all your muscles. The treadmill only works your lower body such as your legs. My trainer has told me that the elliptical is actually better at burning calories and is better for women since running is not good for women's ankles.

Elliptical machines don't seem to give me much resistance because it's so easy to "cheat." Treadmills on an incline are more challenging and what I prefer when I can't cross-country run (snow, rain). but then, my knees are 22 years old.
