If you search http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ for Lingzhi it will tell you what type of research is being conducted for this type of mushroom. There is nothing conclusive yet that it is a 'miracle drug that cures cancer' . . however, at some point in combination with other substances it may have some effect on some types of tumors. Sounds exactly like alot of other types of herbs and drugs that are under clinical investigation.

Enjoy your plant or better yet, donate it for research.

You know, it's very possible. Herbal medicines (which today seems to constitute anything not made in a laboratory) sometimes have very good results. Sometimes I wonder if we tended to and harvested these "natural cure" plants and used them in lieu of pills, we might be better off.

Also, I don't know where you're located, but here in the United States, we seem to have this trend of banning things which will easily make you feel better, or could cure you, which doesn't cost too much. Many people here with terminal cancers go to Canada or Mexico for treatments which are banned in the U.S., and some live because of them. Yes, depending on what you have, these cures could hurt you in the long run, but if you don't have anything to loose, why not?

As far as your plant goes, why to take it to a medical research facility. I wouldn't know where to find one, but I'm willing to bet that most Universities have these. Colleges, unlike pharmaceutical labs, aren't in it for the money; they actually care about finding a cure, whether or not the substance is natural or synthetic.
