There is a reasonable amount of eastern philosophy in London. I know of Buddhist monasaries around London (I used to go to the monastary in Wimbledon when I could) and judging by the number of people from the subcontinent, I would guess that hinduism is fairly common. You could be correct though, about some of the lesser known teligions.

There are more than enough teachers of eastern philosophy. What there aren't enough of is teachers - and students - of Western Philosophy. We fail again and again to teach our children the marvels of Western thought, with the result that they take it for granted and frequently join half-assed, hate-inspired cults. The beauty of western philosohpy is that it examines everything - nothing is taboo or sacred. It even analyzes itself. That is why it it is still relevant and will always be, unlike some redundant eastern philosophies which lock people into an intellectual vacuum.

I guess the Maharishi Yogi didn't make much of a dent there either, eh?

Hmm... and to think that you had India as a colony for the longest time. No Hinduism? No Buddhism??

Imagine.

Peace be with you.
