Most Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. or B.Eng, or B.Sc in Eng) programs are fairly extensive in terms of maths and sciences, preparing the student for examining and solving problems of a technical nature. Typical course loads add up to about 200 credit hours of instruction (around 4-5 years at 2-3 semesters per year). This includes a thesis and several cross-discipline courses ... like humanities, business, and outside interests.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs are more business-oriented, in that the course load is aimed at economics, labor relations, project management, etc. Typical course requirements add up to about 39 credit hours, including a thesis. It can often be completed in one year (3 semesters).

In short - if you want to BE a technical person, you need to take the B.E. program. If you want to MANAGE technical people, take the B.Tech program.
