I use a product called Pearatin that I got at my hairdresser's shop. I have hair like you and it breaks when I comb it out. I put this "leave in" conditioner on my hair after I get out of the shower and it combs really easily and it gives your hair a nice shine too. Maybe you can find it online.

i've got fine hair that gets tangled too. detangler is very good, just dont use a lot, less is more. if you use styling products often then get a cleansing shampoo too, neutrogena has a good deep cleansing shampoo but any brand will do - use that once a week.
If you have oily hair, dont condition every time you wash, just condition few times a week.
For the days you dont use detangler/conditioner, you can also use something called *leave in conditioner* that you use after you shampoo and towel dry your hair. You just put some into your hand then rub it on. Dove and Pantene have good ones.
Any good stylist should be able to advise you on how to use products.

I have very long hair, even though I'm a female, you can also try this: After I have washed my hair I condition it. Then I use a silicone gel, It does not make the hair heavy or greasy and it makes it easier to comb. You only have to use a little bit, so it goes a long way.

easy peasy!! use a conditioner. comb your hair when you are still in the shower with the conditioner in it. then rinse it out!! you can also get detangling agents but i dont recommend them, they leave a film of gunk on your hair.
Also, when you are combing your hair, start combing from the bottom of your hair and work your way up. this stops you from ending up with a giant mass of knots in the end of your hair.
