Is there a way so that I can see TV channels generally beamed in US homes in India? What equipment and/or service subscription will I need. Do remember that the TV standards are different in the two countries, apart from the problem of how to get the channel feeds here.

I live in Pakistan and there are numerous satellite companies here that offer hundreds of international channels. I'm sure you have them too in India. They will give you all the information of which channels are available and what the technical requirements of the dish antenna are. Good luck!

The nearest you can watch US tv channels is through the internet. There are several free internet tv stations that show US TV shows. You can try this http://wwitv.com/. You need a high speed internet connection to do this
