"It's really convenient to know one better." {Is the sentence you wish to know the meaning of?} Convenient may be a bad choice of words in the sentence. Profitable may have been better. But, it means that the better you know a person, the greater insight you have into that person. Obviously, the better you know a person, the more you are able to deal with them at all levels.

First, understand what is being said in the paragraph. The sentence might also read as " someone might want to know more about a person" and if the writer is to you then you can put yourself in the sentence. Hope this helps. English is difficult to learn, but keep trying.
