Many people don't seem to recognize immigration law. The term illegal means nothing. Drugs, gangs, economic liabilities, and terrorists need to be stopped in part through enforcing existing immigration laws. If we need Mexican labor then change work visa laws. If laws are changed to make immigration of any kind legal then begrudgingly I would tolerate it but for now we have scofflaws.

The term illegal means nothing????? You need to look in the dictionary my friend and find out what it means!! I'll help you out - AGAINST THE LAW!! Apparently you don't understand the immigration laws!

It does mean nothing to all the illegals that cross the border everyday, that is true. Because they don't care about the US!

But for American citizens (including immigrants) the term illegal does mean something!!

FYI -- illegals do bring drugs, gangs, economic liablities to the US

I'm Canadian, and I don't respect U.S. immigration law because it is used to restrict economic migration for the sake of xenophobia, so I do encourage the illegal Mexicans to move back to the 1/2 of Mexico which was stolen by the U.S. in 1848 based on "might makes right".

The early Americans forced the Indians to share America, so you should share America too. Why do you say "If we need Mexican labor". I think the labour market itself has already decided that the Mexicans should migrate to the U.S. for better wages, and the labour market is too complicated for someone like you or some bureaucrat to decide who should work where.

Since the whole immigration system is in place for the primary purpose of xenophobia, I find you to be naive to believe that it is capable of changing its attitude anytime soon from that of restricing economic migration to aiding it by providing proper visas.

You're right, there, the general approach of the pro-illegal side of this is 'WHAT are YOU gonna DO about it!?!?!?!', scofflaw sums it up pretty nicely, so the public's answer is 'we're going to the polls' to speak out on paper about it. Some states are really acting on this issue, others are not, bottom line is that illegal immigration is still illegal....

Federal government needs to enforce Immigration laws. If this continues, then terrorists would take advantage of the situation.

I agree with you that the immigration laws need to be updated, but in the meantime I think the laws that are currently on the books need to be enforced consistently until such time as they are overhauled and then the new laws need to be enforced consistently, also. It's a farce to have laws that are not enforced or only sporadically now and then.

Eradicate all mexicans not born in America and not living here longer than ten years. Many problems in America would be solved. If you want a list of them I can give you 31 things that would change for the better. Namely, health insurance costs would go down, home prices would stay steadier throughout most of the country and our streets would be safer by 43%. Did you get that number people?? FORTY THREE percent. Amazing. We don't do anything because most of us are LAZY, living in denial of our own lives. Most cannot speak correctly, let alone even spell, so why bother paying attention to anything other than a square thing that sits in our living room and lights up? Pathetic. I say bring on The Twelve Monkeys plot already. I'm ready to ***. be well all, love Jack

Drugs, gangs and economic liabilities and terrorists are here, will be here and will always be here with or without illegal immigrants. These problems were here always and will not go away. Illegals did not bring these problems. Its easy to blame others for the problems of this nation. You are right, do not bother to stop illegal immigration because its a losing war.

You have spoken a truth of which I have to be in agreement. We need complete Immigraiton Reform.....Along with the securing our border....These two must go hand in hand.... and one without the other will be nothing more than futile attempts.

Because if you don't have any type of law enforcement, your allowing the destruction of the American way of life.
