Toronto is the fine definition of urban. The city is often crowded, hard to find places to live, the city is ofte nbusy all through the day meaning the air is somewhat stuffy, the crime rate is rising although it is easy to get a job.
Halifax is an urban city but is the less busy urban city, the people are friendly and sems fresher with that nice Ocean breeze when you're downtown and never gets too hot in the summer or too cold in the winer. Jobs are easy to get and rent is cheap.
Halifax is the place to go.

beautiful place with a lot of activities to do: Vancouver, absolutely. It is, in my opinion, the city with the most beautiful location in the country. easy to find a job along with going to college: Completely depends on the job you want. Traditionally the Halifax job market had been much weaker than the other two cities, however right now it seems to be doing well. friendly people and easy to have friends ( note that french is my first language and i don't speak english like you guys but i'm gonna do my best ): Halifax probably is friendliest, but Vancouver would be second. Toronto and Vancouver will both be far more active than Halifax, but Halifax is a smaller (and therefore usually friendlier) place. Each city has its own positives and negatives. I would leave my decision more to whichever college/university you wish to attend.

Montreal - the heritage and cultural centre of Canada. The most friendliest English speaking people in Canada. French language?
If you work for an English /American company, you wouldn't need to learn French. People in the town, are usually expert in both languages, and switch from one to another so fast, that you can't believe it.
Halifax - the good old-fashioned Canada. relaxed, and laid-back. A lot of fresh sea foods. People are very friendly & helpful. Rental places are relatively cheap. especially, when you live a bit out of Halifax.
Toronto - well, Torontonian think it's the "center of universe"!!
It's a mix of everything. Rent is not very cheap. It varies from area to area.
Not speaking fluently English is not a big deal. You can't get a decent job acc. to your merits, the only way is through a connection.
Conclusion - choose a place that you know already somebody.

First check the availability of work in that area through the internet! It depends on what positions you are applying for. After applying & being accepted, that will be the time to look for a place to transfer. It will be better that way than finding first a house with no job available in the vicinity.
Montreal is one of the largest cities in Canada. It is a center for culture, trade, industry & tourism. However, Toronto now has more people & Montreal is Canada's 2nd largest city.
Did you know that Montreal sits on an island? it is in the St. Lawrence River in the province of Quebec! Mount Royal dominates the place.
( Mont Real from the French) It is here where it got its name! At the top of this is a beautiful park .
Do you know how to speak French? It is important when choosing this city for employment since 2/3 of the population is French speaking. Did you know that it is the 2nd largest French speaking city in the world? Today it is a mixture of both French & European influence. Even the atmosphere is very French. There are French restaurants here.
If you dont know French then we skip this and see the other cities like Toronto & Halifax!
If you want a breathtaking view of the city of Toronto you have to go to the CN Tower. Did you know that it has the highest observation deck in the world? CN is the Canadian National Railyways, the company that built the tower in the 1970's. Toronto is the largest city in Canada. Its population quadrupled from 1991 to 2001. Here the people are of different culture. Most immigrants stay here & speak 100 different languges. During the 1990's more than half of their immigrants are from Asia! English is the main language. Many people speak Chinese, French , Italian & Portuguese. I guess, learning French will be an edge whether you stay in Montreal & in Toronto. You can go to the website of about.com & learn French at the comfort of your home! Toronto is probably comparable to New York in the USA where mixture of cultures occur!
Nova Scotia's capita is Halifax. It is Canada's three Maritime ( close to the sea)provinces along with New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island. It consists of an island connected to a mainland, called Cape Breton Island. There are 2 National Parks here, the Kejimkujik National Park & Cape Breton Highlands National Park. People greet each other saying ," One hundred thousand welcomes." Nova Scotia is from Latin, New Scotland. Gaelic is spoken here than in Scotland. What is popular here? Bagpipe bands & Scottish dancing. Halifax is one of Canada's busiest ports.
Therefore if you arent a European, either a French or Scottish, I advice that you choose Toronto especially if you are English speaking!

For friendliness of people I would say as long as you speak french go with Montreal or perhaps Toronto (where you would not have to learn french). More and more people are realizing across Canada and the USA that in Halifax it is a very unfriendly and bizzare place. However in Halifax the rent is quite low. Halifax is the last place you would EVER want to live. I have lived here for about 3 years, and I regret moving. People in hell are probaly more normal and kind then people in this god foresaken hole, halifax people are also cold and distant. The media ignores the criminal problem and most neighborhoods are right beside realy bad neighborhoods, if you do not have a car and have to walk I suggest owning a gun. Out of the three I suggest Montreal because it is a beautiful city, with alot of nice people. Toronto has alot of the same benefits as Montreal, only toronto is rather ugly and run down, with alot of pollution. However Toronto has alot of cool places to visit with rent between poor, dirty and interbred Halifax and the great city of Montreal. So I suggest Montreal if you do not mind paying a little extra and speaking french, and meeting beautiful women who can actualy smile. Though Toronto during the night, can be one of the most fun places you could hope for.

Halifax is just awesome, it is like a miniature Boston...there are some good transient jobs there and some good nightlife...Montreal and Toronto are very, very urban...Halifax has some urban feel but less culture shock is involved...The cost of living on the East Coast is definitely more desirable than TO or Montreal...

Toronto is a really nice city, clean and very cosmopolitan. Its said to be the most multi-cultural city in the world, and its definetely something that makes a Toronto-experience very enjoyable. However, living expenses, etc. are somewhat higher than other areas.
Halifax is somewhat of a remote area and it gets very cold in the winter, as does Montreal. I hear Montreal is a very nice city, but most people think its more of a tourist spot rather than an ideal place to live.
I would personally suggest Toronto, you're sure to find a job and if you look well an afforable place to live. Plus the winters are milder and the weather in the summer is amazing.
