Try Rex Hill Reserve 2005 or 2006 Pinot Gris--you can buy it online. Prices Vary. Also, a nice Riesling is Chateau st. Michelle--if you like sweeter wines. For a good red/blend, try "house wine" made in walla walla, washington by the "Magnificent Wine Co."--try this link http://www.thewinebuyer.com/165166 or google for more info. Hope this helps.

Church Road
2002 Tom
Made from:Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Merlot
Grown in: Hawkes Bay
Closure: Cork
Brightwater Vineyards
2004 Brightwater Gold
Deliciously bright, vibrant sweet wine with an intense core of honey wrapped apricot.
Drink from: 2006 to 2012
Made from:Sauvignon Blanc
Grown in: Nelson
Closure: Cork
Auntsfield
2005 Cob Cottage Chardonnay
Taste:
Cool impact is filled with mealy flavours against a background of lime fruit and minerals. Mid palate has good texture,some citrus flavours and a warm burr throughout. Elements of nuts and oak show at the finish, which is given the bums rush by high alcohol. Nice flavour hangs on well.
Red wines
* Cabernet Sauvignon
* Merlot
* Pinot Noir
* Syrah / Shiraz
White wines
* Sauvignon Blanc
* Riesling
* Chardonnay
* Pinot Gris
* Semillon
* Gewurztraminer
I would suggest that you try the Ptale de Rose 1998 from the Chteau La Tour de l'vque.
The Saint-milion and the Pomerol red wines are particularly appreciated, especially the Chteau Ptrus Pomerol which is often sold at approximately $1,000 a bottle for a 1989 vintage.
The best way to learn about wine is to trust your palate. Buy a note book and grade all the wines you drink and you will always find one that will please you, which might end up costing you a measly $10.

Well, i'm not an expert, but depends on what kind you want. My favorite red, is Penfold's cab/shiraz blend, usually about 15 bucks...pretty cheap. White, would be Kim Crawford unoaked chardonnay. That one is pretty hard to find, but delicious.

Pinot Noir: braised chicken, cold duck, rabbit, roasted turkey, roasted beef, lamb, veal
Merlot: braised chicken, cold duck, roasted turkey or beef, lamb, veal, stew, liver, venison, meat casseroles
