In the laboratory it probably is 247 ml, but in the kitchen...as in for a recipe...we just say 250 ml.
One cup = 8 ounces = 250 ml.
1/2 cup =4 ounces = 125 ml.

Here is a little Google secret... if you type in something like "1 mL in fluid ounces" Google will do the conversion for you. This will work for almost any conversion, lb to kg, mi to km, etc... Google will also do math equations for you, just type them in.. very cool stuff. This should help you out in the future.

Most people round it off to 30 ml to an ounce. but technically this is incorrect. The exact amount is 236.59 ml is equal to 8 (US) ounces.
