Time is the only true thing to help scars fade. You can try Mederma for scars, or see a dermatologist about treatments, some including laser treatment, to help remove your scars. Sometimes, tanning will help. If its just for a special occasion, you can use a little bit of foundation (makeup) to cover them up. Just find a color that is your shade of skintone at the drug store. There's nothing wrong with wearing cover up to hide your scars. Now, if you buy eyeliner or lipstick to go with it, then I'd start to wonder...

you have probably missed the boat by one year down the tract. idealy to limit scars pressure should be applied to the area for up to a year since the wound being healed, with vitamin E cream seems to have a role as well.
Scars do fade over time in a few years time they will lose their color and merge with the surrounding skin tone.
However there are conditions, more common in certain races (e.g. Africans, islanders, ususally people with darker skin tones) such as keloids which are overgrowth of scar tissue and is quite hard to manage.

Perhaps you should try getting some cosmetic surgery. But I'm not sure exactly what type of scars do you have. If you already tried all the topical treatment and nothing happen..maybe a cosmetic surgery will make a difference. Ask a certified cosmetic surgeon. Good luck.
