Hi all, the little lady and I are going on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico in March. This is a first for me. What should I expect? Did you have fun? How was Cozumel? Just your thoughts. Thanks.

The fact that you only mention Cozumel in your question leads me to believe that you're going on a Carnival or Royal Caribbean short cruise (3-5 nights). If you're like most of us, by the end of the cruise you'll be sorry that you didn't book a longer one!

One of the aspects about cruising that is my favorite (beside all the food!) is that you can participate in as many or as few of the on-board "activities" as you wish. They seem to have something for everyone all day long - OR - as a lot of folks do - you can just sit by the pool, soak up the sun, read a good book and have a mai tai or pina colada while listening to the ragge music on deck. What's wrong with this picture? Nothing! Cruising is absolutely my favorite vacation - I go on 2-3 a year!

Your options for your day in Cozumel are almost endless - there are about 60 shore excursions that are offered by the cruise line ranging from adventurous to cultural to wet & wild - I have copied the links for you, below.

Or you can just stroll the main shopping area downtown along the waterfront for some excellent bargans. I was there last month and got a beautiful pair of cowboy boots. They were marked $480 - I got them for $100 after "negotiating" with the shop owner. Lots of fun.

I hope you and the "little lady" have a wonderful cruise.

Bon voyage.

What an amazing pleasurable time awaits you!

The cruise ship will exceed your expectations. There is something for everyone. You can be totaly alone on a deck looking out to see - or you can be with as many people as you want to be. It's amazing that on a ship with 3000 guests and 2000 employees that you can select your choices.

The food is wonderful. And plentiful! Room service 24-7 at no cost.

The ports of call are all great. Cozumel has great souviner shopping and is an excellent place to immurse yourself in the culture. Enjoy local eateries, drinks and the people are very friendly - just as you'd expect in a tourism driven local.

Cruises are the only way to go. My very frist cruise included Cozumel. All that trip did was "wet my whistle". Now I can't wait for the next one!

Enjoy. Relax. Soak up some sun and then .... then immediately begin to plan your next trip!

I just went to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It was great. It was my second cruise, and they just keep getting better. Be careful in Cozumel. when you get off the ship, just walk on by the people who are there to separate you from your money. You can deal better when you get away from the pier.
