Dreaded dandy is usually the result of not rinsing all the product, shampoo, conditioner out of your hair and off your scalp.Give your head a good massage with your finger tips when rinsing and rinse twice.Or it may be caused by using a hair dryer to hot.Another thing to check out is your diet and health, you may need some extra Vitamin B and/or E.Always give your hair a good workout with a brush. The old saying of 100 brushes a night has a lot of validity. It stimulates the natural oils in the follicles. No,have never heard of baby soap being good for any purpose other than protecting a sensitive scalp.
Avoid wearing dark coloured tops while its there. If you just can't get rid of it check out some advice from your hairdresser. They will be able to say if you need to see a Dr. and get a referral to a dermatologist. Don't freak out most people get a bout if dandy at some stage. Stress can also be a culprit.

I haven't heard of that but I would be willing to be it doesnt. The only thing that has helped me is to use a slightly expensive shampoo and "scalp treatment" from the salon called Nioxin..Nioxcin. I cant remember the spelling of course right now but anyway, it has made all the itching go away and no flakes. It has a minty kind of smell and makes your scalp feel nice and tingly. The only problem is that I still have that awful stuff on my scalp, no flakes but you can see little things if you look closely..I know, sounds so gross. I dont complain too much tho since no dandruff shampoo ever did a thing for the itching or flakes..even the Tea Tree oil ones that they sell at salons so I'll be happy to not have that itching all day and really happy to not have the embarrassment of it on my shirt!
I also found this on another site:
"pure soaps made of olive oil can help you.But ı want to offer you a shampoo by vichy called dercos.its really a magic. It helps to get rid of dandruff by only one wash.Good luck!"
and another comment said:
"The appearance of flakes can be reduced, especially in those who suffer from only a mild case of dandruff, by proper hair care.
Household remedies to get rid of dandruff are apple cider vinegar (the gold standard of household remedies), salt or lemon juice. Apply the liquid to the scalp and allow to remain for several minutes to several hours, even overnight, then shampoo and rinse clean in the shower. One good way to apply the liquid is from a spray bottle, or simply by pouring over the head. Apple cider vinegar can also be used as a rinse after shampooing: the vinegar will act as both a fungicide to fight the cause of the cell buildup, as well as a rinsing agent, which will rinse clumps of skin away before they appear large enough to be visible"
Im willing to try it since like I already mentioned, the shampoo regimen I use only eliminates 2 of the 3 problems. Id love to just be rid of it entirely, not to have to deal with it every time I wash still.
Finally, one other site mentioned to eat less foods that are high in fatty content since that ends up making its way out into your skin. To also reduce your stress and not use too many hair products.
