Hi there,
Wow, this is a question I've asked myself a time or two.
Here's what I've come up with so far:
GOD, in his/her/its infinite knowledge/power/wisdom has created everything there is, including you and me, and all people, things, animals, rocks, plants, etc.
Man/woman has decided to split things into 'good' and 'bad'. Read Genesis - the fruit of the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
See, before Man decided to want to KNOW a difference between good and evil, no such difference existed!
Read before: And God saw, and God saw that it was GOOD.
Up until someone (and let's not blame EVE for it now) decided that there was something to be judged EVIL as well as GOOD, there existed no such judgment - and THAT was paradise.
This, Paradise, is what GOD created.
Then, God created human beings 'in his own image' - that means WE, human beings, can make decisions and create - life!
I'm not just speaking about making babies although that's a part of it, but I'm speaking of creating LIFE!
Making choices, influencing an outcome, making things happen according to a plan.
We ALL have this ability, because we're created in the 'image' of GOD .
Now, GOD doesn't really have an 'image' - not like a picture. God has a PERSONALITY, sort of. We really don't know what God's personality is, except we know that it's made of LOVE.
It seems that LOVE is an all-powerful thing.
Ok, getting back to your question:
did god leave all his children for satan?
I think not!
Here's my reasons:
1. God is SUPREME. Satan is - well, if anything, an imitator, a ghost-person, a threatener, but something that really cannot exist without someone else giving it power.
2. God has not left. God is IN you and me, and in all of us, all the time, everywhere. GOD is All-powerful, ALL-present, and ALL-knowing. How can there be a place where GOD is not? If there is no place where God is NOT, how can GOD possibly LEAVE?
3. The barrier between human AWARENESS and GOD is guilt. It began in the first psychological description in the garden of Eden, when MAN/WOMAN disregarded God's advice against learning how to judge ("do not partake of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil").
I believe it is God's intent (and, as GOD is all-powerful, he/she/it will get its way) that all humans will reconcile with love and once more be joyful and loving, the way we were created. IMMUNE to fear, as fear is an ILLUSION!
Yes, fear FEELS pretty real when you're hiding from it. Yes, I said 'hiding from it'. I can prove to you as I have proven to me that fear is a ghost, a phantom, and something that has no substance except in my own mind and belief.
I have lived through times when I thought that Satan was out to get me. I have had nightmares that kept me from sleeping for 6 years. At one point, I gave up fighting the nightmares and surrendered. It sounds glib here, but it was a major sweaty and gruesome process. I surrendered to GOD, saying 'if you, GOD, will allow me to be victim of Satan, then I really have no chance anyway. I put myself into YOUR hands". That is what I really thought and said, and right there the nightmares ended - for good.
I have lived through times when I thought that I was saved but I also thought I needed to do things just right (the right prayers, the right church connections, the right behavior) in order to STAY in God's good graces.
I will tell you with every fiber of my being, every thought in my mind and every feeling in my chest that GOD has not left.
I will also tell you with every conviction in my belief that Satan is only as real as you will make it (I will not dignify this idea by giving it a gender).
If you feel alone, abandoned, sad, desperate, these are all feelings that WE, your fellow human beings share at times.
Reach out. Connect. Find that God's spirit and love live within all of us.
You can email me if you want to.

"22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature."
in short.... yes. but we chose to come back into the family of God whne we accept what God did for us on the cross, and repent of our previous actions.

He sure didn't. Satan was defeated when Jesus rose from the dead. He is a sore looser, so he still tries to come after us, but he cannot hurt Christians.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Gen: 3:15 From now on, you and the woman will be enemies, and your offspring and her offspring will be enemies. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.
Satan is our enemy. He will do anything he can to get us to follow his evil, deadly path. The phrase "you will strike his heel" refers to Satan's repeated attempts to defeat Christ during his life on earth. "He will crush your head" foreshadows Satan's defeat when Christ rose from the dead. A strike on the heel is not deadly, but a crushing blow to the head is. Already, God was revealing his plan to defeat Satan and offer salvation to the world through his Son, Jesus Christ.

nope. he gave us protection
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
