I read a lot of these answers that are posted on various questions and it just seems that anything that is not Christian is wrong. I am not attacking the faith, but it is very disheartening to see so many people only offer Christ as an end to thier problems. I mean, life does not work like that(great if it did, but not for everybody). I am just wondering why nobody quotes the Quran, or the Torah, or even the teachings of the Buddha? Is it healthy to only hear the Christian voice in society?

As far as the Buddha is concerned, He only said never memorize sayings;think for yourself; keep an open mind (empty actually); bear the consequences of your actions; don't believe in material things.

That's all. If you memorize that stuff, you are not a Buddhist. :)

If someone comes to your door to bring you the word of their God, and get upset if you say not interested, they might be a zealot.

If the person driving in front of you has a bumper sticker that says "Serve my God of Burn in Hell", they might be a zealot.

If the only song you hear coming out of their stereo is "Onward Christian Soldiers", they might be a zealot.

If a person asks you what your religion is, you respond truthfully and they say "Wrong Answer", they might be a zealot.

I wish I was better versed in the Quran and the Torah so that I could quote them, I'm working on it.

as-Salaam Alaykum
Shalom
Peace

I will give you explanation but you will still be the one to answer your question. a quote from quran " if people rejected to be converted in Islam, they shall be perished, they must die and be killed, for this is the true kind of worship for Allah" (history: prophet mohammed had killed the arabs in meccah when they failed to recognize the faith he is introducing, he anhilate the people, thus meccah had becum the center of muslim faith, it is there where they started the blood shed)

a quote from Torah ( The five book of Law of Moses ) beginning from Genesis, exodus, leviticus, numbers and deuteronomy. "
If a brother killed a brother, then this brother must be turned over with the whole tribe and stone him to death" I am a Holy God and no one shall be in my chosen people to do such evil things, a tooth for a tooth and eye for an eye" this is just a paraphrase.

A quote from Buddha : " We have to balance our life to the lives of our environment. The One is the chosen man who had all the wisdom in this world. We connect ourselves to higher planes to get power" just a paraphrase also.

a quote from the Christian Bible : john 3:16 " For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perished but have everlasting Life"

Mohammed is a prophet

Buddha is a prophet called "The One"

Jesus is God, the Son of a Living God. The symbol of christianity is not the cross but the empty tomb. Jesus is alive. Thats why, He can only be the answer to all our problems.

mohammed died

Buddha died

Jesus lived.

which of the three could be the real God who can answer all our troubles?

Jesus said " I am a God of the living not of the dead"

If He is the hope for all mankind because Jesus died for all mankind, then yes, I feel it's very healthy. Is it palatable to most people? Absolutely not! The Bible is like a mirror, that points out and magnifies all our hidden secrets. people don't tend to like being exposed for their sin nature, They would rather hear a sugar coated Gospel.....not me! I want to hear the truth, not some "feel good" message that will assuage my conscience but send me straight to hell!
