In John 16:7 it says that the Comforter will come. The word 'Comforter' in Greek is 'Paraclete''. It is Muhamma' in Aramaic - the language spoken by Jesus - and in Hebrew as well means 'Praised'. Muhammad or Ahmad ( Ahmad is another name of Muhammad) means 'the Praised'.
And John 16:12-13 also tells us about the coming of the Prophet Muhammad:' I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth is come, he shall guide you into all truth for he shall not speak from himself; but what things so ever he shall hear.....'
The last sentence cannot be anyone else but Muhammad, because he did not speak from himself.
Then, who was the Prophet after Jesus who came to the world, apart from Muhammad?

The last I heard, mohammed wasn't a spirit; and certainly NOT a spirit of truth! Reach as FAR as you want to try and make my Bible say something it doesn't, but when SPIRIT is capitalized, it's talking about the HOLY Spirit. Case closed!

I think its easy to explain.
The male Arabic name Muhammad came from the Aramaic term for comforter. LIke the female English name Sophia came from the Greek word for wisdom - sophos. That is reaching for anything to support the prophet.
I'll tell you what would be difficult for a CHristian to explain. If Jesus said the Comforter would be a man named Muhammad. If Jesus Christ fulfilled numerous specific prophesies in startling detail it would not be too difficult for him to clearly identify Muhammad. The Paraclete is not a prophet. He is the very Spirit of God. Prophets are men sent by God to speak for God. The Comforter is God. But I know that is a different discussion since you believe the entire Bible is corrupt. But that is how I would explain it.

In those Bible verses Jesus Christ was speaking of His Holy Spirit that He will grant us to be baptised with after repentance. Through the Holy Spirit we will be guided to all the Truth of the Bible. With the power of the Holy Spirit He can work in us, helping us grow, giving us the words to say, help us to conquer Satan.
That was what Jesus was talking about. The Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit.
And the Holy Spirit is a blessed thing to receive :)

I'd truely say "nice try" if it was... but its not. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter Jesus promised and was poured out on the believers on the day of Pentacost. Do you think those are the only 2 places which speak about this Comforter?

Myra I hope you're sincerely searching for truth & not trying to provoke others. Please read Acts 1:4-8. That describes who Jesus was referring to in John 16 & since he was talking to his followers while he was on earth & telling them to wait in Jerusalem until the Comforter would come he was in no way refering to muhammad bc these followers he was talking to would be long dead when Muhammad arrived. The key word is Spirit. The Holy Spirit resides in our hearts & minds

Sorry, you are way off. I know you're trying to make some connection between the bible and the quran, but there is none. Mohammed taught many doctrines that were contrary to what Jesus taught so he could not have been sent by God.
One obvious one is Jesus taught people to not wage war. That's all Mohammad wanted to do. Jesus taught people to love their enemies and Mohammad taught to kill your enemies unless they convert to Islam.
Sorry, they are not of the same God.
So what if Mohammad's name means the same thing as Comfortor? My name is Salvatore which means savior in Italian. I don't run around telling people I'm sent by God to save the world. How many arabs are named Mohammad today? It means absolutely nothing.
Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit and not a man in that text. He was very clear stating not to believe anyone who says they are another Christ (pathway to God). That is exactly what Mohammad claimed to be so his claim is in direct contradiction to what Jesus taught.
John 14:5-7 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Matt 24
23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
One last thing is that Islam teaches that Jesus was not the Son of God. Jesus stated very clearly that He was. Someone is wrong. I'll give you a hint who is... It's not Jesus.

it was not a prophet but a helper, the Holy Spirit.
The holy spirit helped Jesus' apostles in their preaching work...example: they were able to speak in different languages so they can talk to people from many places, since they speak different languages.
have you ever read Satanic Verses?
