you are supposed to burn a candle for as many hours as it is in diameter. So, if your candle is 3" in diameter you would burn it for 3 to 4 hours. A 3 wick candle, for example, is 6" in diameter so you would burn it for at least 6 hours, and so on. No more tunneled candles.

I have the same problem with some candles too- it drives me crazy! Unfortunately, I've also found that the more expensive candles do not burn down as quickly and tunnel themselves into a huge hole that dims out the flame like you're talking about. I often take a knife and cut out the edge around my candles as they burn down too, which helps prevent the wax from melting over the wicks

I know that it sounds strange but they call it hugging the candle. A few minutes after blowing out the candle you should push in the top edges using both hands on opposite sides of the candles. This really only works with candles that are larger than votive size. They have instructions on the partylite website. Also be sure to trim the wicks after each burn.

ha ha good question. I have found that the big candles do that often,I have resorted to buying the medium size candles which seem to burn better and last longer. Pier One candles seem to work pretty good, there is a Pier One outlet near me,it is kind of a "scratch and dent" outlet where the rejects go,but the candles are new.
No I don't work there.. ha ha .
