I have a dog, that had 2 strokes, and it partially crippled her in her back legs, to where when she squats to pee or poo, her back end will sometimes fall down. She's a real fighter and has been fighting so hard to not let this stop her, and she is in no pain. But i'd like to be able to help her get around on walks again, and I know there are free services out there that help pets in need get things such as a wheelchair. Please only answer with serious answers as my dog is my world, and I so need to do something to help her. Does anyone know the link to any of these services that help dogs like mine??

Oh, meant to say, I need services that will help with donating or helping with the cost. Thank you again for helping.

If you end up getting a dog wheelchair, drop me a line on how well it does ( or does not) work.
My German Shepherd is 13 now and could use a rear axle rebuild. It's old age and arthritis, not a structural issue.

A decision which should be made by the owner and vet taking into consideration the quality of life the dog is getting, some people are not willing to make a commitment towards the dog and for the extra care needed, my dogs used to play with a dog using wheels and the dog was having a good life tail always wagging, loved to meet and play with people, her owner was very committed to her though and made sure her needs both physical and mental were met EDIT I have just looked at the link suggested by James the answerer below me and it is great that the dogs can have so much freedom in the carts one dog is digging and later swimming in his cart - excellent

www.dogkarts.com has what you need. I typed dog wheelchair into Google & got this plus lots of others. I've seen handicapped dogs motor around with these things like there's nothing wrong with them. Good luck. You are very kind to not just give up on her. She's lucky to have such a loving owner.

The places that build wheelchairs for dogs are businesses, and you can expect to pay for one. The ones I've seen run about a few hundred dollars, which should not be too much for someone who is your world.

If you need financial assistance, try contacting your local SPCA (and your vet) to see if they have any information on charities that may provide assistance, or used equipment.
