Make sure he is ready to be potty trained. Can he tell you when he has to go potty? Does he go through his nap without wetting his diaper? With my son he got we got him into a routine of going potty before bath time, before bed and when he first woke up. We had to use a little bribery at first but he caught quickly especially when he saw that daddy used the potty. That made him want to be a "big boy". Try to get him to use the bathroom every hour or so. Watch for his body language so that you can get him to bathroom when he as to go potty. I may also help to put him in training underwear, it's like regular underwear but padded, or go straight to"big" boy underwear. Most kids don't like wet underwear. The big thing is patience.

ok the average age for a boy to potty train isnt 4. its just possible that they reach that age before theyre completely potty trained. i co own a family childcare with my mom and we deal with difficult to potty train children pretty often...we usually wait until summer time to potty train because if they have an accident they wont freeze their little butts off. what we do (and it has proven to be very successful) is we put them in the gerber potty training undies and a pair of cotton shorts...they go about their day as usual and end up having an accident the first couple of days. they dont like the feeling of pee running down thier legs and learn, pretty quickly that they should go to the toilet. of course when they do go potty in the toilet you should reward them to encourage them to do it again, but dont do it everytime because they will get used to it and begin to take advantage. if you see that they dont react to being wet then they probably arent ready to be trained and u should hold off for a few months.
hope this helps

Isn't potty training a joy? LOL! I have a lot of younger brothers... and its a pain trying to help my mom potty-train... But the thing that worked best for all my younger brothers, was to let them run around in their underwear and big T-shirts... after a few times wetting themselves... they get sick of it (and so does mom, LOL) and they start realizing how much nicer it is to do it where it's supposed to be done... Hope this helps... Good luck...

The average age for a boy to potty train is 4. If he isn't ready....don't push him. That will cause more harm than anything. Boys are slower than girls in that sort of thing. just relax and take it easy, he will get the hang of it. Have you ever met anyone who hasn't lol? Just don't worry, if he's trying then he's way ahead of schedule. Good Luck!!

My little girl started potty training at 18 months because she just wanted to.. but i didnt push it to much cause that was really really young i thought.. so now here we are at Two And we went threw the potty is ucky phase and i got her out of that SLOWLY!! and now everytime she goes potty she gets a sticker. and if she pee's her pants i make her pick a toy to be put up for the day! Its not the greatest method but it works well for her.. just dont Stress it too much Boys are harder than girls but he will get it. I also Didnt use Pullups. I used trianing pants. then they really get that wet ucky feeling and it goes down their legs oh what fun to clean up but i think tat the pullups just were more like diapers to her and she didnt care if she potty'd in them

i have a 2 year old to and am in the same boat what seems to work for us is he has a chart and if he goes to the potty ten times in a row then he gets to go to the store and pick out a reward. set a $ limit and let them choose. you'll be amazed at what they want.

Just be cool. He'll let you know when he is ready. (Obnoxious stuff that boys do like announce "Mommy, I make stinky" right before he loads his diaper) Boys are alot slower to catch on with speech and potty training. If you're really concerned, ask his pediatrician.

I've read what every body elsehas to say about the matter, and what worked for me was to get my husband to take our son to the restroom and show him what to do cause lets face it, we as women can't begin to show a boy how to use the restroom,so get your child's father to help or a male figure that you trust
