There are a few places I would check. One is CNET and look at the downloads, there is freeware and shareware app's. Another site is Lifehacker which has suggestions on how to clean up, speed up, make your computer useful again. One utility that I found useful (costs 29.95 USD) was Ace Utilities (can be found on CNET). Seemed to help get rid of a lot of junk files, duplicates, allow managing startup programs etc.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

CCleaner (CrapCleaner): A powerful program that removes unwanted temporary files, temporary internet files, caches etc. to make your computer run faster. NOTE: When you use this, if you don't unselect some stuff for your net browser, it'll delete stored passwords and all your history.
HiJack This: This program scans and makes a list of all of the unwanted stuff on your computer, and gives you the option to remove them. NOTE: It cannot determine between what is a thread or what is needed for your computer to work. To make sure, get it to make a logfile and copy and paste that into http://hjt.networktechs.com/ which will tell you which is safe to remove and which is not.
Both are free programs. http://www.merijn.org/programs.php#hijackthis

Try Macafe or Norton. Otherwise, use disk cleanup from the accessories-> System Utilities in the start menu. Uninstall useless or unneeded programs using Control
Panel.

You will have to search for and delete all the porn off your hard drive. There is no special program to clean porn exclusively off your hard drive. McAfee and Norton offer Internet Security programs that include optional activation of parental controls. I imagine there is free programs out there that do something similar.

Yes, AVG-Free is the best Anti-Virus out there and its free. It does update often and rivals the expensive anti-virus programs. Personnally I like it better than nortons. Also for anti-spyware, I use Spybot Search and destroy.
