Yes they are.. Imagine that you live in a neighborhood and your house is being robbed by vandals and the police don't do nothing about it,, wouldn't you defend your property. Well this is what the brave American citizens are doing, defending our country from just about the same, illegal immigration, drugs smugglers, terrorists, criminals, etc. And they doing it free of charge. These brave Americans are called The Minutemen, the name they took from another brave Americans that fought the English in our Revolutionary War.

I think it's fundamentally a good idea, but like anything else, anytime you start sending money/asking for donations, there's always that guy/those guys with the sticky fingers...

The Minutemen helped raise awareness about the border, and illegal immigration, but the REAL task is still going to fall to the US Border Patrol.

Here's a couple good websites:

Yes, I believe the minutemen are good to have on the border. Ideally, the Federal government would be doing their job of securing our borders and convicting employers who hire illegals and enforcing all our other laws regarding illegal immigration, but since they aren't, I'm glad the minutemen have stepped up to the job.

Yes, someone has to protect the country! The government isn't!

Minuteman Jim Gilchrist is the one doing the most work and does a lot of Public Speaking. He's great.

The Minutemen have not had one act of violence in the group. They have a perfect record. The illegal aliens and their supporters hate them!

hell yah! i wish we could shoot the illegal immigrants crossing the border. Mexico says how we are asses for not totally opening the borders but look at them when you see elsalvadorian cross there border they get shot on spot. Now is that right? no!

no, simply because there are better solutions to the problem of illegal immigration than the minutemen. Maybe it would be better to send your money to an organization that helps out poor mexicans, so that they eventually will hopefully have no reason to come to the US illegally and the government can concentrate on more problematic issues, such as terrorism.

Please see the interview of him at www.democracynow.org(http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/11/1430231)- Oct 11th in the archives if the link doesn't work. I would save your money and invest in a book on critical thinking.

These organizations serve more to distract from the hard questions (why are illegals being hired in droves by landscapers, contractors, farmers and restaurants) and play on people's negative emotions because they are threatened.
