my boyfriend and I have been dating a short period, about 5-6 months and the holidays are right around the corner so of course I want to buy him something great, but I don't want to get him something "too serious" does that make sense? We do love eachother so I want to get him somethign that says i love you but we don't have tons of history together yet so i'm not sure on what to get him. I think it's way too early to buy anything after $300-500... I was thinking of buying him so nice bedding. Is that lame? Hahaa, he has such a great place--it's his first condo--but he has such shitty ugly sheets and NO comforter, just a blanket. Do you think buying him so some nice bedding is boring?

I think the beding idea is nice, dont get me wrong, but I think you need to go a different route with him. Here are some suggestions on what might work

If he likes movies then buy him a subscription to NetFlixs.

If he likes radio and music, either buy him an MP3 player or a radio and subscription to Satellite Radio.

If you want to do something that pertains to his condo, maybe a really nice statue or piece of artwork. Something that might describe his personallity.

Those are only a few thoughts.

Being a guy myself in a dating relationship of six months this week actually, I think I can relate...

The 300-500 stuff.....that's way too much for a christmas gift on a boyfriend. Nice bedding might be lame to him at first, but I'm sure he would definitely appreciate it. If he's smart enough, he will realize that he will sleep better and it looks better, something that you like (a plus for a guy). If you want, throw in something small extra just so you aren't playing the naggin' housewife: give him stuff for his car or something small that he really enjoys.

Get him a soft dark button up shirt and a bottle of nice cologne, something you like the smell of. Its what I got last year and was the perfect gift of my Christmas because I think of her when I wear them.
