It is correct that there is no such thing as stomach flu. Viral gastroenteritis can be picked up from anywhere..the gym, contaminated food, at work, you name it.

From what I understand, there is no such thing as a stomach flu. IF you're vomiting and having diarrhea, you most likely have some sort of food poisoning or viral infection. Anyway, yes I am sure it's very likely to get ill from the gym. Think about all the nasty, sweaty people touching everything. Some people's noses are running and they wipe them with their towels and then put their towels on the machine. If you're truly concerned, clean each machine before and after you use it. It might look nit picky to others, but hey you won't be puking.

You would need to have contact with a person who had the stomach flu at the gym in order to get it.

It is possible to get what is commonly referred to as the
"Stomach Flu" not just from the Gym but from anywhere...
Humans are constantly getting exposed to a variety and
a number of organisms......Any virus or bacteria that you
might get exposed to might consequently bring about
a slight to moderate fever, nausea, etc.
People commonly call it the stomach flu, it is self limited and
if you rest and drink plenty of fluids, it goes away.
Food Poisoning is something entirely different.

yes, def, the flu can easily transmit from one to another just about anywhere. I woudl recommend the following

clean hands, frequently but not to the point where you strip hands of vital oils, et.c
DO NOT, and i repeat DO NOT rub hands/fingers near your mouth or your nose to scratch and iff, or rub your nose after you have been around a heavy traffic area. This, in my opionin is the number one reason why people get sick. When you do this, you are pretty much asking that the germs or virus gets into you.

good luck, hope ya feel better
