The Four bibles have only mention that a mark was put on Cains forehead so none would kill him for killing his brother.
But in the Forgotten Books of Eden. God did not put a mark on Cain . But sought to make him die of fasting, and praying and weeping by hard rule, until the time that he was delivered from his sin.And the seven punishments are the seven generations during which God awaited Cain for the murder of his brother.

It has not been ascertained by any scholars...... The Scriptures do not indicate what that mark was.....
Yet, many attribute that mark to mean that God placed upon Cain a sort of punishment......
And, I will tell you no, He did not......
It was a sign of mercy..... "Lest any finding Cain should kill him"......
((and yes... Methusaluh was the longest living soul in Scripture 969 as they said...... Gen 6:3, God changed the life span of man to 120 years because He realized that man shall not always allow God to have a portion of his life.... "My spirit shall not always strive with men"......))
