my girlfriend is so upset. Lately she and her fiance have had little time to spend together and communication between them comes few and far
between intervals. His cell phone isn't working and he doesn't get to come online much. Yesterday he left he an offline message and apologized for not catching her online and after he got ready to sign off he said" I miss you Beth"...not her real name. I asked her why she was upset and she said because he used her name instead of the usual pet names he calls her such as pumpkin or sweetheart. I told her maybe he just wanted her to realize how serious he was about missing her and didn't feel it was appropriate to use a cutesy name at the moment. She is so worried he doesn't love or care about her the way he used to. I disagree and told her to stop being so negative, but I would like some other opinions on this matter. Thank you all for your help.

Well, coming from experience, I say yes and no. My husband and I have been together for 6 years and pet names are essential for us. I feel like he is being loving when he calls me "sweetie pie" or "babe". It is only he that is allowed to call me "pet" names, and it is special when he does it, but it is okay in certain situations when the "pet" names are left out. It really depends on the mood. I hope that I was of some help.

I think as women we sometimes get used to certain things (such as pet names), and when those things are no longer there we freak out. I know personally when my man says my name instead of Baby or whatever it might be I catch on and it kind of panics me for the moment. I am sure "Beth" is going through a lot of emotions with missing him, and is questioning things because of that. Just be patient with her, when they can spend more time together again I am sure things will be much better. Remember also that women's gut intuition is often right though, so she might be on to something. She knows her man best.

Number one: where does he live that that cant communicate?? In the Swiss Alps or the Jungle? I mean com on. Why can't you communicate with someone ? Also, is this just an internet thing? sounds fishy. The girl in the picture may need to grow up a little and realize that everything is not about her. Other people exist too and he may just be spending time with others he likes or cares for. She cant have it all...so get used to it.. no offense just REALITY

If they're engaged to be married, this is something they need to discuss before the wedding. I suggest premarital counseling.
