From a christian perspective, (I'm a christian), either one is condemning. Unfortunately all unbelievers cannot make it into heaven, satanist or otherwise. I have chatted with satanists and athiests and I've found that satanists are more open to discussion. They recognize that there is something supernatural at work in their world. An atheist sees only their own mind. A sort of knowledge worship. No evidence would be sufficient to prove that God exhists to many of them. They are the more closed minded of the two groups. From my personal experience of course.

Satan is used as symbolic to a Satanist - they don't actually believe in Satan. Most Satanists ARE atheists.

Satanists don't believe in god, the devil or the afterlife, they just have a greater focus on themselves. Neither one is better, it's just a matter of what works better for the individual.

Whether you go for the Atheist thing or the Satanist thing, it's just more of that "us" versus "them" philosophy so typical of the narrow-minded.

If you really don't care about organized religion, bring in a philosophy that eliminates that "us" versus "them" thing, that caused many wars (religious or social).

So as long as you believe in *something* you can't prove, it's better? No. I believe Atheists are "better", because at least they can back up their beliefs with observable facts. I am not technically an Atheist, but that is still what I believe.

Well, Christianity is the best but between Atheism and Satinism, Atheism is definately better. Other people have commented that believing in something is better than believing in nothing, but when it involves worshiping the devil......almost anything is better than that.
