The Bible clearly states in Genisis 1:1, In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Therefore, there are no other planets.

Everyone knows that the New York Times isn't a work of fiction, which couldn't be said for the bible, torah, or koran. The New York Times declared that god was dead back in the 60's ... so apparently Lucifer offed the old guy. Was it an act of mercy? Did he do it like Dexter with Keylime pie?

Good question. In fact, for a second I thought you might be Mormon, to come up with a question like that. Perhaps, and this is an opinion - with emphasis on the word opinion - there were several planets in the original War in Heaven, when Lucifer was cast out for trying to take God's glory and take away the agency of man.

How would that be relevant? Why does it matter where it happened? The only thing that matters is it happened and we have to decide which side we are on. Do we want to be on the side that has ALREADY lost - Satan or on the WINNING side - God. It's a simple choice really. Why try to complicate it?
