I don't know why, but I really want to "fix" him. He seems so broken. His heart was destroyed years ago by the only woman he ever loved. He refused to get into any new relationships. But he seems like a nice guy, and he needs to get some. I wish I could act as his counselor, but he barely gives me the time of day.

He's uptight, and he treats his brother (my boyfriend) like crap. Even after we bought him a $65 shirt for Christmas last year because we knew he'd love it, he still acts this way.

Why is he like that?!

(I know you can't necessarily answer this question without all of the background. I'm more just venting!)

I dont know what you can do about it. You cant help someone if they are not willing to cooperate with you. Have you ever tried to sit down with him and have a conversation about it? I don't think gifts will cheer him up. He probably needs a good friend. Someone he can open up to.

How can he treat people like crap and be a nice guy? I see jealousy, his brother has a relationship that he can't get. Whenever he sees you 2 together he probably gets pissed, but it's his own fault. He's got some extreme baggage, and I feel sorry for the next girl who makes the mistake of dating him. Stop giving him gifts to buy his affection, he will resent you more. I would avoid the loser. Or if you can't, kiss your bf while he's looking and he'll leave the room!

why would buying him a shirt change the way he is....you cant buy someones respect. his problems run deeper than just having his heart broken. leave him alone. if he wants to talk hell come to you, or his brother, or someone else. hell get over it sooner or later. its not your problem.
