what about the baby?
i dont care what you do to your body, it is your choice, but why dont i ever hear from you about the baby's body?
is it that somehow the 8 month old babies who havent been born yet but are aborted cant feel, and the ones that are born at 6 months can?
babies at this stage are awake for 5-10% of the day, have rem sleep (dreaming), and are usually aborted by cutting the umbilical cord, thus suffocating the baby.
why have i never heard an answer for this from a pro-abortionist on this?
can you answer? if so plz do.
thank you.

I don't think you understand what the majority of Pro-Choice people want. No one is talking about killing an 8 month old baby or a 6 month old baby. We are talking about stopping the process before it is a baby - 1st trimester abortions remove a clump of cells, nothing resembling a human baby.

I have heard of the later abortions only ever used in extreme circumstances where the child has serious birth defects. I don't think any parent makes that decision lightly and I don't think any doctor does either.

Peace!

OK, but you are referring to people who have a differing opinion than your's as "pro-abortion". I'm not "for" abortion. I don't want every fetus terminated. However, abortion needs to be an option that is legal...or else women will (and have) died trying to end a pregnancy. And do you realize the vast majority of abortions are done during the first trimester (0-12 weeks)? Do you know that the D and C procedure, mislabeled "partial-birth abortion", may be necesary to save the life of a mother and is a medical procedure used in cases other than abortion? Sorry, I don't go along with the "tiny feet" "tiny hands" arguments against abortion, nor am I swayed by your claims that they have REM sleep @ six months. In my opinion, the abortion question is one about the life and health of the mother first.

if the quesiton is do i agree with abortion or don't I
u can't get an abortion done at 8MNTHS not ALLOWED.
this is my reasoning-my opinion and not an infliction on anyone else.

my answer is this- ITS UP TO THE PERSON.

my own reasoning i would do it, cuz first of all i know u can't get an abortion done after 3mnths, and i completely agree with that.
also if i did get one done ever- i would do it during the cell division cycle when its an zygote or in the process of becoming a fetus, it all in ure intrepretation of the situation.
also if i knew what was growing in my womb did not get the attention it needed from me, then i would get it done. when i do have the situation that does arise that i should or should not get it done, it does not mean i am cruel and being a murder if i get an abortion done. i WOULD CRY.
but this is my opinion and people should not inflict their opinions on each other and say one is better than the other- IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PERSON.

i am also 19f- also honestly to never have to go through the debation of abortion PRACTICE SAFE SEX- or be abstinent or use any other contraceptive methods to not get pregnant.
ok i am done now!!!!!!!!

one more thing i would like to add- when u get an abortion done its a cleanin of the endometrium lining of the uterus, it basically like a women undergoing her menstrual cycle except for now ure cleaning up cells- which can be in the blastocyst stage, or zygotic stage. also then heres a question for u is menstrual cycles bad, cuz technically ure removing an egg each month and thats another life that could have been????whats ure opinion on that- u can answer on one of my Q

Babies being aborted at 6 or even 8 months? You exaggerate a bit there. I think you are referring to 'late term abortions' which are abortions commonly occuring after a 20 week (5 month) gestation period. The latest being at 27 weeks (6 1/2 months). These are extremely rare and account for only about 1.4% of all abortions and are usually done for the following reasons:
Reasons to have a late term abortion include:
Deteriorating financial situation
A change in relationship with the father
Lack of awareness of the pregnancy until its later stages
Discovery of the pregnancy by others who persuade an abortion, for example parents of a minor
Inability to have an abortion earlier in the pregnancy (due to a lack of funds, lack of transportation, or a legal restriction)
Discovery of a fetal abnormality undetectable earlier in the pregnancy
Pregnancy a risk to life or health

Don't make it sound like this is the norm for abortions, it isn't by far. If you do not believe in abortions of any kind then I suggest you never have one. In the meantime, concentrate your self serving, hypocritical, limited christian morals on yourself and allow the rest of us to live as we see fit.

well if you take into account that the majority places abortion is legal it is only legal to the end of the second trimester , then this question poses no relevances to the issue you are trying to approach, i have never heard of abortion being carried out this late in a pregnancy, 6months is the absolute latest it can be done. a little more research of the topic might actually pay off if you think there a psychopathic doctors out their doing that , the only time I have ever heard of an abortion carried out that late was to perform vital life saving surgery on the mother.

People aren't pro-abortion, they're pro-choice.

If you remove the embryo from the womb, can it survive?

"is it that somehow the 8 month old babies who havent been born yet but are aborted cant feel, and the ones that are born at 6 months can?"
Abortions in the 8th month of pregnancy? How common is that?

I suppose basically it is the emotional attatchment. When a baby is inside the womb, it is almost an abstract concept in some ways, it is not something that is living on its own, it is a part of the mother's body, sort of. If it is unwanted, it is far easier to emotionally seperate yourself from something that is unbreathing, and that you see only in ultrasounds, than it is from something breathing and visible to you every day.

I am afraid I am not nessessarily a pro abortionist, but i am not against it either I suppose, I would like to say I understand both points of view.

I'm not pro-abortion, but I understand why abortions are legal. Most abortions are performed on young girls who didn't want to become mothers yet. Raising kids without any help is extremely difficult and tennagers are not mature or responsible enough to do so. Adoption is the best choice, but not enough people adopt kids to jusify erasing abortion laws. Also, "underground" abortions would increase dramatically. Most importantly people need to understand that nobody really wants to have abortions, it's just a side effect from not educating kids enough on safe sex.

I agree with AE, but the debate will rage on, no matter what we say here. Many, many people will disagree with me and that is their choice. But from a humanistic standpoint I can see no other options than to allow abortion to continue. But, I do think birth control should be practiced more extensively though out the world.
