Jack Daniel's is a far superior bourbon on literally every front except the price. I prefer a smoother, sweeter whiskey and Jack Daniel's is definitely much smoother than Jim Beam. If you don't think so then you're probably a white trash chav tosser.

Jack Daniels and the Lem Motlow distilleries all the way.Jack Daniels is much smoother than Jim Beam any day.Gentleman Jack is even better than regular Jack Daniels sour mash.I tried switching to JB for a while.but I went back to JD for flavor, smoothness and a cleaner drunk. The one downfall with JD is it makes alot of people mean. That's what people always told me,"I can't drink that stuff or I'll get into a fight".It never did that to me though.
And for those of you talking about Makers Mark, guess who formulated that, and from what bourbon. It was the Lem Motlow distillery, the makers of Jack Daniels.

Jack is whiskey that is mellowed by filtering through oak charcoal for ten days, giving it a distinctive flavor. Most other bourbons, like Beam, are not mellowed this way. Jack also makes a double-mellowed spirit called "Gentleman Jack".

Personally, I'd go for the Jack Daniels just for the memories.

Jim Beam. If I wanted to taste charcoal when I drink I would put a Kingsford Briquet in the glass. Kentucky Bourbon is the best whiskey. Tennessee and Canadian suck! Scotch and Irish are acceptable as well.
