I am going to canada the day after tomarrow, I want to know if I have to prove anything other than my citizenship of the U.S. ?

Do I have to prove that I have sufficient funds, or that I'm coming back to the U.S because I don't have a round trip ticket, only a one way.

I have relatives in Seatle, so I was probably going to get picked up by them after about 3 4 months in canada.

I called this number it should be canada customs and she said that I won't need to prove sufficent funds or that I'm coming back as long as I'm a U.S. Citizen.

If you tell them you are staying for a few months you will have to state the reason. Traveling then driving home should not be an issue. If it is for work or school make sure you have the necessary paperwork if any additional approvals may be necessary., such as a work or educational visa.

Yes, you may be asked how much money you have during your stay in Canada or how you are going to support yourself. Obviously if you are going to be working or studying during your visit, you'll need the proper paperwork. You could be asked a wide variety of questions. It's up to the guard you get what to ask, and what they ask can sometimes depend on how you answer questions or how you act. Some common things they'll ask you are: where you are going, how long you'll be there, the purpose of your trip, if you are visiting someone they might want to know how you know them or how you met, and what goods you are bringing with you.

Ultimately it comes down to the luck of the draw. Sometimes the customs officer you get might wave you through after only a question or two, and other times you might be in for quite the grilling.

Crossing the border really isn't a huge deal, just make sure everything is in order as best you can before you cross and answer every question honestly. If you get caught telling even the slightest lie, the customs officer has the discretion to deny your entry on the spot for up to years at a time.
