I'm not afraid of marriage, but I'm afraid to marry the wrong person. I used to want to marry because of social pressure, but I changed my mind. I only want to risk it for the real love of my life. Guess that's why I'm still single.

I am. I am afraid of getting divorced, mainly. I am also afraid of falling out of love and feeling 20 years down the road that there was something more I could have done with my life, or thinking that maybe I was meant to be with someone else. I have seen a lot of friends settle for a settled, domestic life only to envy all of us that are still single. On the other hand, though, I have met married couples who are still in love and still know how to have fun. I guess marriage can be whatever you want it to be, you just have to know what makes you happy.

afraid......ha! nope...theres just no point to it. two people can live happily together without having to get married. no little piece of paper can bind anyone to another person, and even if it could, it still wont prove how much love you have for the other one. if marriage was so sacred, then why do so many marriages end in divorce.....if someone could give me a REALLY GOOD reason to get married then maybe id agree that marriage is a good thing....til then, f**k it!

Marriage is a permanent commitment. Anything permanent is scary. The thought of being faithful to one person for the rest of my life just completely paralizes me. Having to answer to someone other than myself and sharing decisions with her instead of making them for myself. Its all a very scary concept but thats just my opinion. I've never personally known anyone man OR woman that was married and happy so I just think marriage is a torture I dont personally have the stomache for.

Not really afraid of marriage. But just being cautious that once make the wrong choice then there are consequences to face.

i am, scared shitless. Its not as if i hate weddings or marriages, guess i'm afraid of it failing. Scared of never finding true love that will last and not just get married to a guy who gives u security.

Not afraid of it at all.

I'm looking forward to the answer to this question myself. I hear so many people, particularly men, say that life is over once you get married.

If that's the case, why get married?!

I don't have to fear marriage cause it takes two and since I am only one it will never happen and after 49 yrs of being single I don't think marriage matters anymore.

I'm not affraid of Marriage it's just that it's hard to tell if you found the one. The girls I dated alway's wanted to elope, I didn't because if your getting married it should be knowen that you are not running away and hidding it from every one. But people I talked to always asked why I'd want to drowned myself. I never knew what they meant until now, It means you can't breath.
