For what purpose? Defensive shooting? Hunting? Target shooting? Accuracy? Distance? Plinking? Just having fun?
My favorite firearms in general are either my heavy caliber bolt actions, or one of my medium caliber semi-auto rifles. For plinking one of my 22's.

Where to start Mr. Land... My favorite deer rifle is still my old tried and true Remington .25-06 Model 700 ADL. My favorite duty-carry is my Glock Model 20 .10mm w/trijicon night sights. My favorite revovler is my Colt Python .357 Magnum 6" barrel in original Colt Royal blue. My favorite old-west revovler is my Ruger Old Vaquero s/steel .38-40/.40 S&W single action revolver. My favorite field gun is my s/steel Ruger Security Six w/2 n 3/4" barrel adustible sights .357 Magnum. My favorite shotgun is my Remington 870 pump in 12 gauge. My favorite hog gun is my Ruger #1 in .458 Winchester Magnum. My favorite semi-auto centerfire is my FN FAL (7.62x51 NATO). My favorite .22 rimfire rifle is my Belgium made break-down .22 automatic.
I guess that about covers it.

I would have to say for a shotgun my winchester youth model 20 gauge that I have since grown out of but still is great or my Mossberg 12 gauge pump. For a rifle a tie between my trusy old Marlin 336c in .30-30 and my Remington 700 in .30/06.
For semi-auto, my M-1a, and the FN-FAL both in .308 are tied with preference to the m-1, it just is an awesome weapon. For a pistol: carry and combat is my springfield GI 1911 .45 and for revolver/hunting/combat my .357 magnum old police revolver with a bull barrel and smooth grips. That about rounds it out for a very brief list of my favorite guns.

Easy, The Taurus 145 Pro 45.acp. Probably one of the best CCW guns made (small size but mega punch) and can't beat the $350 price tag. People trip when I let them fire it off, because they expect a big recoil, but it feels great. Excellent groups at 25 yards+. It will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. Makes me leave my Glock at home when going to the range.

Wow.......toughie.........so many choices !
I think my first preference would be my Marlin M-336 "Cowboy" in .30-30. Followed closely by my Marlin M-94 "Cowboy" .44-40.
Perhaps, also I would have to include my Marlin M-94 in .45Colt with the barrel cut to 16 1/4 inches. Am I falling into a rut here?
