first time is the worst. it gets better. i do recommend waxing instead of shaving. when shaving, it comes back thicker and faster.

Get it done the week after your period. You have a higher threshold for pain then. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is a papercut and 10 is cracking your shin against an immobile object, I would say 5. It does depend on the exact area...labia hurt alot less than you would expect but the areas where the skin is thinner, like right over your pubic bone, can be pretty sensitive at times. The most important thing is to relax. We tend to build things up in our head and anxeity can make it so much worse. If it's something you want to try, just take a deep breath and remember that no pain lasts forever. Personally, I think it's worth it.

It actually doesn't hurt that much. Make sure you don't go at times close to your period, as skin is more sensitive during those times and tends to make the waxing a tad more painful. Taking some aspirin before helps a little. But as long as you go to a good salon, it shouldn't be that bad. Make sure you relax!!! That's the key to an easy brazilian. If your muscles are tense its going to make the ripping of hairs a whole lot harder, and hence make it more painful for you. First time always hurts a little more, especially if you shaved before that. But if you keep going it'll be a breeze. Once you start getting them you'll never stop, its so much more comfortable!

I would say like between 3 and 6. I doesn't hurt as bad in some areas as it does in others. I was really scared to do it but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Yes it did hurt a little, but the outcome was soooo worth it. Go for it. It only hurts for a sec anyway and then they put this cooling gel on it. Good Luck.

Just my $0.02, but Shaving doesn't hurt at all, and doesnt' require you to spread your legs in front of a complete stranger.
