I'm so confused right now. I want to start eating healthy next year. But the problem is that I don't really eat that much meat. I can tell you the truth right now. And I know that I'm brave enough to say this. So... I got this big by eating nothing but Junk Food and Sodas and being lazy but I've changed now. I'm no longer lazy I clean up the house and take care of my mother. I barely watch TV anymore. I now read. And I've limited my computer time to only 1 hour a day.

But That only leaves me with diet and exercise. I'm thinking about fasting but that's not a good idea. I only want to eat Watermelon cubes and Celery and only drink water but that's not good.

So people please Help Me. I don't mind eating Chicken Breast. But to replace that is it OK to eat the Louis Rich Chicken Strips? Please Help Me People. Right Now I have a Walk away The Pound Tape and it's 4 miles. I'm only doing that until I lose about 70lbs because me being very obessed and all, it's limited my activites.

That's definitely not good for you. Try eating fruit for breakfast, a big salad for lunch and a sensible dinner. NO SODAS!!!! Water, water, water. You need to drink tons of water and start walking, not running. Work yourself up to running, just start off with walking. I did this and it worked for me. I won't lie, it's not easy but it works! Good luck!

Try nutrisystem. I lost 90 lbs on it and the nice thing is they have a vegetarian option which is what I used. The food is a bit expensive but it works and if you used to buy fast food for every meal and stuff might not be that much more its about 10 dollars a day. However you can go on their website and read the boards and there are people who follow the diet using their own food. Fasting and eating just one thing will not get you any where. If you deprive yourself like that you will only go crazy later and over eat and put it back on. Your body needs certain vitamins and carbohydrates, and protein to function. A diet needs to provide you with all of this. Eating whole wheat is good for you and the good thing is your body digests it slower and is metabolized slower and doesn't raise your blood sugar like white bread. I wish you luck but please find a diet that teaches you to eat the things your body needs so that you can keep it up for the rest of your life.

"I barely watch TV anymore. I now read."

While reading is certainly better than TV, it still gives your body no activity. Exercise, eat small portions, eat fruits/veggies more. Genetics is possible, but I view it as an excuse by dieticians to explain stubborn cases. I'm 17 and 135 lbs. Even though I eat some chocolate every day, shortbread cookies,...you get the point. But I counterbalance it by eating better food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Also, do more of your eating at lunch than at dinner. If you eat at lunch, those calories can be burned while you are awake. But at dinner, unused energy is stored as glycogen, and soon fat.

And finally about diet tactics:
Low carb/high protein--- BS
Special formulated foods that you pay loads for--- BS
Smaller portions--- The right way

I used to weigh 230 pounds, I started losing weight with L.A weight Loss..that limited my foods of what I could eat....which was good because I couldnt eat junk food anymore or sodas etc...now I wont touch at all.

I got down to 196, got a great job that Ive been with almost 2 years now, then I went to weight watchers where I could eat anything but I had to watch my calories pretty much...started exercising...by walking and doing sit ups.

Well I got down to 177 and started working out at the gym...now I weigh 150...and I drink water all the time, no snack foods. I drink at least one diet coke every week..but I still drink my water. you can still eat meat...take small bites and dont eat so fast because if you eat fast your brain wont have to process that you've eaten something...and when your actually full you wont feel full if you eat fast.

It could just be genetics that's holding you back. Why are you waiting until next year? Do it now. Just remember that cardio is the key to lose weight. You need to do a MINIMUM 20 minutes three times a week. Doesn't matter if it's going for a jog, cross-trainer, or riding a bike, you just need to do that.

I lost 12 pounds in three weeks. All I did was cut fast food out of my diet, and went to the gym every other day for two hours straight with the emphasis on cardio (weight training after that). Good luck.

limit your fat intake and excercise. Read the food labels. Chicken is good, so is fish. red meats are not that bad for you. Its the fried food that gets you. walk everyday along with some weight training to tune yourself.
