I have a cold sore that made a huge blister on my lip. It hurts really bad and I have a hard time closing my mouth. Can I pop the blister or will that only make matters worse? It's driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!

No no no no...don't pop it...i know how you feel...i have two right now...but when you pop it could get infected and get way worse...it will pop on it's own but you need some abreva and make sure you keep them moist with that or chap stick (carmex) they will become yellow and then if you pull them off brown (dried blood)...i know it sucks but you're just going to have to wait it out...next time your in the doctor ask them if you can try valtrex...because cold sores are a form of herpes...if you take it as soon as you see/feel it, it will go away...i took mine but then i was out in the cold freezing which made me get a worse fever so this is the first time it didn't work...but once again...i'm so sorry...i feel your pain...just keep doctoring it and don't pick at it...

No, don't pop it, the virus can spread to another part of your lip, especially if your lips are chapped. Go get some abreva...it shortens the presence of cold sores.

at the same time as I easily have on no account experienced this, I easily have seen a family member putting thier ear wax on their blister. when I asked why, she mentioned it enables it to heal greater quickly than abreva. I observed her day after today and her blister did look critically greater effective.
