I am a current sophomore, 19, at a University here in California. I absolutely adore my math professor, 31. He is funny, knowledgeable, and friendly. I periodically attend his office hours and chat with him. He and I have become quite friendly with one another, often emailing each other asking how our weekends have been, sharing a funny video, etc. Although the emails are usually initiated by me, he seems to enjoy getting them. Is it against any policy to date your professor? The class is almost over, and I do not plan on taking anymore classes taught by this professor. I am also wondering how to express my feelings for him. I know he feels an attraction towards me. I do not know what to do... Also
He is not married. I know that for a fact. And he is currently single. I know he is at a different stage in his life right now, but I'm willing to get to know him better, and become friends with him in the least. He does not talk to any other student that I am aware of...

It is not against any policy for you to date your professor. However, it is probably against policy for him to date you. It is considered very unethical for a professor to date a student, because he has the power over your grade. At the university I work at, I believe there is a policy that prevents romantic relationships of this type for university employees, and you would be putting him in a difficult position. If you are interested, wait until the semester is over and the grading process is complete. Then you'll both be free to pursue a relationship if you want.

Guys your age will tell you know because of the JEALOUSY factor. But to tell you the truth, Asian people are very accepting of older men as bfs and husbands, so I am guess I see it as a normal thing. If he likes you and you are not taking his class or anything (biased grade), then it should be ok, unless there is a university policy he can't go against. this is all legal matter. many people will say no to the prof, but you guys don't have a big age difference where as many marry people twice their age just before they are not their professors, kind of contradicting is it not? don't feel bad.

hello I actually have continually needed a guy that became mature and practice.. kind of like the guy you're speaking about. in view that he might want to correctly be desirous to get settled down already because he's entering his 30's you're tied onto this. make sensible you truly pick this for your self because you're nevertheless 19 and also you nevertheless have fairly some opportunities and thoughts to locate previously you get severe. be sensible to have a sparkling verbal substitute on what he needs from this courting and what you make a decision from this courting so that you're waiting to objective to get this to artwork. keep in mind that he has an fantastic benefit over you. he's older and he's likewise a attainable lover, plus he has extra adventure in this courting field. be sensible that you're literally not getting used for his inner most time table. except that, i in my opinion imagine that's high quality. My pal's father and mother were 10 years aside and they love one yet another very a lot. perchance it became the age aspect that saved them mutually (the adulthood of the male). reliable luck.

Girl you go for it, a really close friend of mine had the same crush like you do and it blossomed into a really awesome relationship, so I agree and I think it is perfectly ok.

Just send him a note after the course and invite him for tea or lunch.

Goodluck!

Make double sure he's not married or otherwise involved. If you want to persue anything other than friendship just make sure you wait until after youre done with the course... and be smart about it. Even if you like him and he likes you... it looks horrible on both him and you.
