My pair have layed an egg. But, there's a problem. The female layed and egg in the hole but the egg is gettin moved outside from the hold and on to plain and flat part of the nestbox. What should I do to prevent it or is it ok if i just keep it like that? Please respond to me quickly!

One more thing, I put paper towel in there but they removed it.
And, this is their first egg in this clutch.

Don't worry about them moving the egg aside. The female may not be sitting yet, some often collect a few eggs and then sit seriously. Some pairs like to lay 5 eggs and then sit, some start sitting after the second egg. Then you get 2 babies hatching together a 3 more 2days apart.
She will eventually sit on the egg if it is fertile. They somehow know, she may also not like it if you look in there too often, never ever more than once a day. I have a budgie hen the packs and hatches her babies in a corner she does not like the centre hole in the box. I have a sun pair that burry their eggs in the shavings when not sitting and they also hatch babies that way. It may just be a choice your hen is making.

The paper towel, they probably did not want it. I would not put anything more in the nest box while they are laying.

A young pair may not hatch a first clutch, they may be practicing, don't worry they do know what to do the second clutch is always better.

I would try to raise up the edge to keep the birds from rolling the egg away, or you could try a new box. Another reason they do this could be it isn't fertile (birds somehow know) and that is why they are trying to push it out. Often times the first egg or two that are laid in most kinds of birds are infertile. Be aware though, any changes in the nest box or cage may keep her from laying or sitting on the eggs for a while. Good luck.

Wish I could trade with you! I have a single female (without a box) I have to distract to get the egg out from under! You will probably get a professional answer from a breeder, I reckon as long as the female is still warming the egg it's fine. You could search cockatiel + breeding for tips.

As Dolly said, my birds were laying infertile eggs.

The pet/bird expert said the easy way to check, (without touching/breaking it) is to put a very bright flashlight up against it if you don't see blood vessels it's probably infertile.

But leave it for a couple of days just in case; they maybe just trying to turn it but it keeps falling out of the nest.

U keep a mud pot instead of a wooden box. I'm in India and we keep only big mud pots with some sand put in for warmth. This is the thing that we do and our cockatiels hatches.
