get him to the vet now sounds like parvo could also be worms as sometimes that's the cause he's very young to be weaned from mama did she die or something Good luck

Parvo" is a virus that attacks the lining of the digestive system. It causes dogs and puppies to not be able to absorb nutrients or liquids. Puppies are especially prone to it because they have an immature immune system. When dogs and puppies contract parvo, they often have diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy. Usually they stop eating and develop a bloody, foul-smelling, liquid stool.

Symptoms usually begin with a high fever, lethargy, depression, and loss of appetite. Secondary symptoms appear as severe gastrointestinal distress, such as vomiting and bloody diarrhea. In many cases, dehydration, shock, and death follow.

Parvovirus is characterized by severe, bloody diarrhea and vomiting, high fever and lethargy. The diarrhea is particularly foul smelling and is sometimes yellow in color. Parvo can also attack a dog's heart causing congestive heart failure. This complication can occur months or years after an apparent recovery from the intestinal form of the disease. Puppies who survive parvo infection usually remain somewhat un-healthy and weak for life.

I don't know what kind of milk you are feeding the puppy. I hope it is a formula designed for puppies. At that age it may still need a bit of stimulation to go potty. I am concerned about whether the dark black stuff that came out is blood. You didn't say if it was in the pee or stool. Take the puppy to the Vet in either case because this is really young for it to be away from a mother. I raised a Pit rescue from three weeks old and fed her just born puppy formula and then in a week I fed her Just born mixed into a mush of a bland canned puppy food, good quality, not gravy like or real wet. She licked the mush off my fingers.
Does what came out have a real strong smell? I think your best bet is to have the Vet check him.

You should bring you puppy to a vet. When puppies are very young and sick, it usually does not end well if not taken care of. When i was out of the country I got two dogs around this age, the first one died and the second one is still alive at the the age of six. In pets stores they sell milk especially for puppies. You should be feeding him every 2-4 hours. Since he has not drinking milk for a day he's probably dehydrated. Also this might sound a little corny but try feeding him from a baby bottle. This is what i did when i was out of the country and the dog responded well to it.

What are you feeding it? Why do you have this puppy so young? This is too young to be weaned. You need to get a GOOD puppy formula ASAP and you may need to bottle feed. In the meantime put some honey on the gums, (this will give the calories the pup needs and strength to eat). You may also need to get some nutracal from the vet, this is a high-cal paste that cost around $5. Does the pup have "bloody" diarrhea? Vomiting? If so, it could be parvo. Sounds like the pup is really weak, if its not eating (keep in mind they nurse about every two hours-I have 6 pups now about that age) You need to get the pup to the vet.

What happened to your puppies mom? They really should be with them until around 8 weeks at least. He may have parvo, the symptoms include lethargy, unwilling to eat, and dark or bloody stool. Please have him seen by a vet, or maybe take him back to his mom if at all possible, he could probably use the antibodies from her milk to help him overcome whatever this is.

I love the pit bull breed but I agree with you. Pit bull owners think their dog is different and it could never happen, but when/if it happens most are still in denial. They are unpredictable! You are doing the right thing as a mother saying you just don't want to take the chance! I am the same way. She'll come around but boy is it hard to get through a pit bull owners head that they may have a really good dog, but they are big and strong and sometimes just snap. Just stick to it and don't go over until she agrees to put him in the way. Your sister being mad at you is defnintiely not worth risking a childs life, so no you are not crazy haha.
