Is this reasonable?

Ok I'm doing this geometry project and for 80 to 90 sq feet, is $320 reasonable to cover the floor with wood?

The wood is 3.39 per square foot and it is a birch finish and each case covers 23.6 sq. ft...Idk why we need this for geometry but oh well

yes that is a good price for pergo, I saw a mention of it. However the labor is where it gets a bit dicey. If It is simply a geometry project, no sweat, but if you actually have to install it my experience is that most rooms are not truly square and most walls, even at the bottom plate, after dry wall and time tend to waiver. Pergo is relatively easy to lay but you will find that the variables in your surrounding materials force you to use skills that are not always common sense.

if total cost to cover floor is $320 dollars for 80-90 sq ft in the question then the answer is yes...standard labor to install floor(min.) is $2.50 sq ft leaving balance of $105.56 to $1.50 sq ft for material...so this price is more than reasonable

Your best bet would be Home Depot's or Rona's websites. Actually, it depends on the wood, whether it's reasonable or not. For hardwood laminated floors - by all means, yes. For the basic construction wood, I would say it's way too expensive.

ok honestly they charge you approximately 90 AUD per square meter to supply and install the floor boards

comparison shop first. it sounds high, but compare apples with apples. search it on the web!

yes you have to pay someone for there knowledge and for their tools and time that sounds fair if you want it cheaper do it yourself
