lol, the guy above me said both....He practices doublethink! Well, Pagans came first and since the idea was popular then that the Christians "borrowed" it. (Has it been returned yet?)

It depends upon what you mean by "demon". If you're referring to fallen angels, you won't find many Pagans who do. (Despite the fact that some, for some unknown reason, seem perfectly fine agreeing with Ravenwolf's insistance that angels are part of Wicca. Don't ask, I don't understand it.)

That said, there's a number of Pagan religions that believe in... aggressive Others. Beings that, while perhaps not evil, per se, are entirely unfriendly towards humans. These would be things like the forces of chaos in the ancient mythologies - the Titans, the Fomori, etc. Depending upon varying viewpoints, some Pagans might consider these beings to be demons, simply for ease of use in terminology.

I'm Pagan and I do believe in demons. But not the demons that follow Satan. I do not believe in Satan. I think of a demon as an angry, or evil spirit.

Because they exist.
The Bible gives a good account at Mathew ch. 8 and Luke ch. 8
In both accounts, the demons that Jesus ordered out of the man/men into the pigs, IDENTIFIED Jesus as God's son.
NOT God himself.
These same demons were once angels in heaven, and had actually been in the presence of BOTH Jehovah God AND his son [ Proverbs 8;22-31]
Surely they would know.
Further, they entreated Jesus not to order them into the 'abyss' YET!. [verse 31]
Jehovah God has Jesus do all the judging and punishing.
(John 5:22) For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son,

(Revelation 20:1-2) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
(Revelation 20:3) And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

It is an ANGEL [ Jesus] who does the 'abyssing'
Jehovah God cannot be classed as an ANGEL. They were created.
Just like Jesus [ Proverbs 8; 22-31]

Demons are probably an archetype of the human consciousness. Or maybe its just a coincidence, or perhaps they are real. Many religions share similar features. The explaination for any similarities could be any of the above.

You're misinformed. Pagans don't believe in demons, at least not what Christians refer to as "demons".

Most of us, I dare say, don't believe in demons of any definition..

I've been a polytheist my whole life and I've never believed in demons. Actually, few neo-pagans believe in absolute evil.
